General description z92

Mutation in the Y chromosome, which was designated Z92, developed around 4700 years ago. Currently the carriers reside mainly in Europe.

Carriers of the mutation, as a rule, belong to the family of European Nations. The main core of the cluster is located in the Baltic area and Eastern Europe.

The cluster is divided into the descending branch. Currently there are two branches, labeled by mutations in R-Y4459 and Z685. And, judging by data from publicly available commercial databases, people with R-Y4459 twice more than Z685.

To estimate the distribution of people with these mutations, I have used open data from the project of haplogroup R1a.

For the qualitative analysis of this distribution and employed a factor called "factor presence."

The ratio is calculated as the number of people in the sample with a specific mutation divided by the population of the country of origin in millions of people. The coefficient is dimensionless and is not responsible, nor any other sense – but to help to estimate the highest prevalence or "rootedness" of a group of people with a certain mutation.

The data are summarized in the table.The table shows that the highest value of the coefficient for both branches in Lithuania. The next country is Belarus and Finland.

The nearest neighbours of Lithuania – Estonia and Latvia significant results were not shown. And much behind the top three countries – which is rather strange.

Lithuania, Belarus and Finland, the ratio between the two branches of standard representatives R-Y4459 more. But in Lithuania the ratio is 1 to 2, but in neighboring Belarus 1 to 6. What requires explanation is because these countries themselves are small, have a common border and had entered into one state.

The next three countries these are Poland, Russia and Ukraine.

It is interesting that in Poland, unlike all other countries - Z685 most.

Z685 and R-Y4459 in Poland relate to each other as 2 to 1. And in Russia, on the contrary 1 to 4. Ukraine has a ratio close to Russia, where the ratio Z685 to R-Y4459 as 1 to 3.

You can make a preliminary conclusion that the cluster z92 is "rooting" in the border area of Lithuania-Belarus-Poland. It is closely related to Finland.

Is it possible to conclude that the branch Z685 is "Western", and R-Y4459 is "Eastern"? I think not – and analysis of this issue will hold in the next article.
